Budget 2022 is the largest ever Budget with an allocation of RM332 billion. It is an important budget since it is tasked with bringing about economic recovery and improving the lives of people who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The private sector has been adversely affected. At the same time Budget 2022 cannot afford to ignore long-term development with the announcement of 12MP. The budget has tried to balance the needs of the rakyat along with those of the private sector and industry. At the same time, Budget 2022 has aims to be faithful to the Prime Minister’s theme of “Keluarga Malaysia”. These and other issues, particularly the implications of Budget 2022, will be explored in this webinar. Come join us and hear from our distinguished panel of experts on the Budget.

Meet our Speakers
Datuk K. Yogeesvaran
Datuk K.Yogeesvaran served in the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service for 36 years till May 2018. He was posted to the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department for 27 years where he held several senior management positions, including as Deputy Director General. His portfolio included macroeconomic management; sector policy and strategy planning: and, medium- and long-term national development policy formulation. Datuk K.Yogeesvaran is currently a partner in a legal firm. He has a Masters in Economics and a Post-graduate Diploma in Economics from the Manchester University, UK, and an LLB degree from the University of London.
Farah Rosley
Farah Rosley is the Malaysia Tax Markets Leader and Global Compliance and Reporting Leader at Ernst & Young Tax Consultants Sdn. Bhd. She is also the President of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). Farah has more than 20 years of experience advising clients on corporate tax, tax audits and investigations, and transfer pricing projects. Her knowledge and experience cover industries such as services, telecommunications, property development, construction and manufacturing. She has also assisted MNCs (including various Fortune 500 companies) in location studies. Farah has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hull, UK.
Dr Hezri Adnan
Dr. Hezri Adnan is Executive Director at Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). Dr. Adnan has a PhD in Public Policy from the Australian National University and specialises in sustainable development solutions in areas like green economy and natural resources governance. He served as a Member of the United Nations’ International Resource Panel (IRP) from 2015 to 2018. He is also the former CEO of the Langkawi Development Authority.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob
Tan Sri Sulaiman is currently the Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). Tan Sri was the Director-General of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) from 2006-09 and had served in the Ministry of Finance (Economics and Budget Division) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. Tan Sri is, among many, a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAWIP) and the Joint Prosperity Action Council.
